30 Years of Prestige, 30 Facts You Didn’t Know

All this month, we’ve been celebrating 30 years of Prestige Network. A lot has happened over this time and so we wanted to give you 30 facts that you might not know about Prestige.

  1. We were founded by siblings, Shawn and Shohreh Khorassani.
  2. They started Prestige Network in a utility room in Camberley, Surrey.
  3. The name was just chosen as an off the shelf company.
  4. Prestige officially started as a company on the 1st April 1991.
  5. We started by selling a multilingual word processor software.
  6. We sold many multilingual language software products worldwide to over 50 countries.
  7. Our company colours are dark blue, light blue, and dark pink
  8. In 2001, the business moved from language software products to language services, specifically the difficult languages needed for the Public Sector.
  9. We offer translation, interpreting, and transcription services.
  10. We offer 24/7/365 service.
  11. We are a government approved supplier, including Crown Commercial Services and many others frameworks.
  12. We are an approved supplier to some of the biggest brands in the corporate world.
  13. One of our biggest contracts was providing 40 linguists in Asia for 40 days.
  14. We are ISO 9001:2015 certified.
  15. We are Cyber Essentials Secure.
  16. We have had 8 different offices in the past.
  17. Our current head office is in Newbury, Berkshire.
  18. We moved into our current head office 5 years ago (2016).
  19. We’ve been flying our flag since 2018.
  20. We have a secure room for transcription in our head office.
  21. We have our own audio/video production facilities.
  22. We have staff based around the world
  23. Our workforce has doubled over the last 2 years and keeps growing.
  24. 75% of our employees are female.
  25. We have 18 native languages amongst full time staff (currently).
  26. We cover at least 160 languages and are always adding more.
  27. We have a global client base.
  28. We develop our own proprietary language technology, so we are a software house as well.
  29. We helped translate the NHS Track & Trace app.
  30. We launched our in-house subtitling service in 2020.
