Interpreter of the Month! 

 We are excited to spotlight one of our fabulous British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters, Linzi , as our Interpreter of the Month, for selflessly collaborating with Prestige Network to create a robust support package for a client with complex language needs.

In March 2024, PN received a request enquiring after a BSL interpreter for a Deaf client and their Deaf partner for all future maternity care appointments. Soon after this initial enquiry, the request was changed from a British Sign Language interpreter to an Arabic Sign Language interpreter, which is extremely rare to find in the UK. Eventually, Linzi assisted the couple during an appointment. Their unique situation resonated deeply with her, and she joined us in trying to find an Arabic Sign Language interpreter residing in the UK. Through her hard work and dedication to providing excellent interpreting support, she found a co-interpreter who is fluent in Arabic Sign Language and BSL. The two have since formed a great professional relationship and continue to support this couple in their journey to new parenthood.  Linzi’s kindness and support ensured that the couple were able to understand everything that was being said during a medical appointment for the first time in their lives. She is a credit to us, and to the BSL interpreting community.
