Franchising has been the preferred model for many kinds of international business –  not just fast food. It creates real opportunities for growth in the global marketplace.

But it also creates challenges when delivering the support packages that franchisees need when taking on a local franchise.

A lifetime in franchise!

I have spent a large part of my working life helping franchise owners create these important assets that can be the key to success.

It started with Tricon (now YUM), localising their training assets for their European franchisees. This was a significant task and a real eye-opener to the resources needed to create a successful franchise business.

Soon after, my wife became actively involved in the launch and management of the Bang & Olufsen franchise network. Under strong leadership, B&O grew its franchise operation at an impressive speed. So, first hand I saw the potential of a successful franchise model.

The next challenge was Haagen-Dazs Café. And again the task was to rationalise and localise their training, marketing, recruitment, and HR programmes for Europe and Asia.

You’re probably getting the idea that for about 10 years I did nothing other than translate and localise for franchise operators –  and that’s not far from the truth!

It gave me a huge insight into the operational, training, and marketing needs of international franchise owners.

Paper to digital

When localising for Tricon the platform was paper-based. Substantial manuals containing reams of information.

But this quickly transitioned to interactive assets, so by the time Haagen-Dazs Café arrived on the scene, my team was also designing the interactive digital assets – and localising for a global audience.

Today

Prestige Network has every resource a franchise owner needs when creating that library of translated training, operational, marketing, or HR and recruitment guides.
