Recently we received the following feedback about one of our Interpreters that was so outstanding we thought we needed to introduce her to you!
“I have been using Reem a lot recently for 2 new young people who have entered the country from Sudan. She is FANTASTIC, she is very personable, empathic and friendly. She is able to form a really good rapport with young people even over video call meetings and is someone I will continue to ask to use.”
Introducing Reem!

What kind of jobs do you do for Prestige Network? (pre and post-COVID world)
I’m doing a very varied range of interpreting jobs, from medical consultations to child services and custody interviews. With COVID-19, initially I saw a drop in my jobs, however as they picked up the spread of work has been similar, but my workplace and work outfit have all changed. My dining room has become my Zoom/ Teams meeting room and I use my kitchen for telephone interpreting. When I go out to my bookings, it’s mask and sanitizer that are the important things, when it used to be phone, chocolate bar and water before. The other great thing is that parking is so much easier now.
How long have you worked with Prestige Network?
I’ve been with Prestige for over 8 years, and loved every minute of it. I’ve got to know people in the office so well and they are not just colleagues, but friends (especially the leather clad biker).
Which job did you feel made a real impact?
I’ve done a lot of varied and diverse jobs for Prestige, and I take them all in my stride, and every now and then one gets your heart pumping and adrenalin flowing. On one job, I was in a hospital interpreting at a medical examination of a child. As we progressed the child and her mother became very teary and started to cry, I thought they were upset, but in fact they were crying with joy as they had been so frustrated at being unable to explain their disability and now for the first time the doctor understood. This really gave me a good feeling that I had made a real difference in someone’s life.
What do you enjoy most about being a freelance interpreter for Prestige Network?
This job gives me the freedom to pick and choose when I work and when I need to put my family first. However, when I am doing a job I get to be with people and that is the thing I love most, interacting with different people and every job is different.
Any particularly special moments on jobs?
A few years back, I was with a client in hospital, it was supposed to be a routine antenatal examination for a heavily pregnant woman. At the end, after a doctor had left and I was doing my timesheet, the woman asked me to call the doctor back and tell her the baby was coming right now!
At Prestige Network we are always open to expanding our freelance team and constantly looking for talented people to join us.
