Training and career development just got easier

Prestige Network Blog, Interpreting, News and Press Releases, Public Sector

We believe that learning and career development is important. We also take our clients’ safeguarding requirements extremely seriously, and that’s why we have just launched our new eLearning suite for our Head Office team, with a full roll-out to our talented Prestige Network interpreters starting in January 2020.

We now offer a series of modules on Safeguarding, which are mandatory for all our interpreters and Operations team, and anyone else at Prestige Network who works on our NHS interpreting assignments. Additional courses may be completed and each one earns Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.

Mandatory courses for Interpreters are:
• Deprivation of Liberty Standards
• Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults
• Safeguarding Children (Level 2)

Optional Courses are:
• GDPR Essentials
• GDPR Refresher
• Cyber Security
• Customer Service

Each e-learning module takes around 30 minutes and competency is tested and validated at the end with a quiz, and a certificate upon passing.

Why have Prestige Network created this eLearning for our linguists?

Our linguists are already highly trained, many boasting additional specialist skills. They are contractually required to prove their competency in certain areas. Being an interpreter for us is flexible and a great way of maintaining a work/life balance. eLearning courses are completed online, and when it’s convenient for our staff. By providing these courses, it gives us the opportunity to help our staff to further their careers, and makes it even easier for new interpreters to join our expanding company and take control of their future.

In addition, it adds to the confidence that our customers already have in us, in that we follow best practice and the correct procedures for them and our staff.

A big thank you has to go to our Operations team, who have been working really hard over the last few months to ensure that our training is fit for purpose, building the platform, testing it and now rolling it out.

We’re looking forward to seeing more modules in the New Year, including Autism Awareness, but we’ll let our team celebrate its success and take a short rest for now.
