Prestige Network Celebrates Defence Equipment & Support BSL Contract Win

Translation and interpreting provider Prestige Network have been awarded a new contract with Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S), part of the Ministry of Defence to supply British Sign Language (BSL) and hearing assisted services for at least two years commencing March 2019.

The contract covers communication support for DE&S employees who are deaf or deafblind including interpreting, translation and scribing services. The services will help DE&S employees in meetings and events BSL, with specific provisions including finger spelling and note-taking at events and assistance in exams.

Prestige Network’s unique relationship with the BSL interpreting community in the UK places us in a favourable position to assist with the full set of requirements for this contract. Other clients for whom the company provides BSL interpreting include the Equality and Human Rights Commission, Care Quality Commission and Royal Mail Group.

The arrangement between the DE&S and Prestige Network will be in place for a minimum of two years with an option to extend the contract further for an additional two years.
