The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is the largest cancer centre in Europe, treating more than 40,000 patients each year and serving an immediate population of 3.2 million in the Greater Manchester & Cheshire areas, alongside a number of regional and national services. Its radiotherapy facilities are the largest in the world, enabling their expert staff to deliver 80,000 treatments each year.
Prestige Network have been working with the Trust for almost six years, providing a full range of interpreting & translation services. During this time, we have gained particular expertise in sourcing & placing interpreters within the Christie Clinic, a specialist cancer treatment centre. Every year, the Trust staff place in excess of 2,300 bookings through our innovative online booking portal.
We are acutely aware that supporting cancer care requires emotionally mature interpreters and are working to provide help, training and support for the wide range of emotions that working in a cancer care environment brings. This is available on-demand and developed in consultation with our interpreters, and can also be made available to clients on request.
