Communicating with One Billion People

Chinese, both Cantonese & Mandarin, are the primary languages spoken in China. Indeed Chinese is one of the most commonly spoken languages in the world with approximately one billion people communicating in it world wide. Thus, Chinese Language Translation is one of the most invaluable business tools in today’s era of business globalisation, political organisation and information communications.

Native Chinese Translation Linguists

All of the translation done by Prestige Network is done by native speakers of the relevant language. In other words, if you need a document translated from English to Chinese (traditional characters or simplified characters), a Chinese native will be working on your translation to ensure an accurate and professional translation that also conveys the general meaning and spirit of the document. Our professional translators can provide the most correct translations into or from Chinese and in any other language.

Accurately Conveying the Meaning

In certain cases, a literal or direct Chinese Language Translation may not be enough. For example, a legal document, computer manual or marketing plan may lose meaning when translated (if not meaning then feeling, such as alliteration, imagery, symbolism, etc.). This is why at Prestige Network, we train our staff not only to be able to freely translate sentence after sentence, but also to be able to understand the full meaning of a document, and to the best of their ability, try to preserve the entirety of the documents impression.

Chinese Language Information

Spoken Chinese is distinguished by its high level of internal diversity, although all spoken varieties of Chinese are tonal and analytic. There are between seven and thirteen main regional groups of Chinese (depending on classification scheme), of which the most spoken, by far, is Mandarin (about 850 million), followed by Wu (90 million), Cantonese (Yue) (70 million) and Min (70 million). Most of these groups are mutually unintelligible, although some, like Xiang and the Southwest Mandarin dialects, may share common terms and some degree of intelligibility. Chinese is classified as a macro language with 13 sub-languages in ISO 639-3, though the identification of the varieties of Chinese as multiple "languages" or as "dialects" of a single language is a contentious issue.

Standard Mandarin (Putonghua / Guoyu / Huayu) is a standardized form of spoken Chinese, based on the Beijing dialect, which is part of a larger group of North-Eastern and South-Western dialects, often taken as a separate language. It is the official language of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Republic of China (ROC, also known as Taiwan), as well as one of four official languages of Singapore. Chinese—de facto, Standard Mandarin—is one of the six official languages of the United Nations. Of the other varieties, Standard Cantonese is common and influential in Guangdong Province and Cantonese-speaking overseas communities, and remains one of the official languages of Hong Kong (together with English) and of Macau (together with Portuguese). Min Nan, part of the Min language group, is widely spoken in southern Fujian, in neighbouring Taiwan (where it is known as Taiwanese or Hoklo) and in Southeast Asia (where it dominates in Singapore and Malaysia and is also known as Hokkien).
